Land of Kaiju Trading Card Set- 24 card set with illustrations and text by Chet Phillips

Kaiju, translated to strange beast or monster, has a long and glorious history in pop culture and on the silver screen with the likes of Godzilla, Rodan, Gamera and Mothra, just to name a few. Chet Phillips explores this fascinating world of humongous mutants and irradiated creatures with his own collection of whimsical beings that are part animal, part fantasy and all in-your-face fun.
The cards in this oversized set (each measuring slightly over 3.25" x 4") present full color portraits with a distinctive Japanese woodblock flavoring on one side and humorous text including points of origin and historical facts on the reverse. 24 cards in all. They are printed on thick 14 pt. uncoated cover stock and conjure up a wonderful retro impression as though they were rescued from a dusty trunk in a long forgotten attic. Presented in a sturdy hand crafted paper portfolio, the label is adorned with an attractive gold foil stamp representing the work Kaiju. On the back side of the pack is the artist's signature as well as a red hand stamp that reads "Chet" in Hiragana.
